App works well. You have to be pretty exact in the wording when you're searching for something or you'll get no results at all, or a whole confusing lot of items not relevant to what you put in the search box. In the store the barcode search works well which is helpful when the price isn't apparent on the item. I very much like having my discount deals in the app so I don't have to carry coupons around.
This is a very poorly constructed app. Searches aren't editable and have to be completely re-entered. product reviews require ad blocks to be turned off & only allow for very limited # of characters. It just looks ugly. Lags quite often and the search results aren't very accurate. For the process they charge on products, they should at least have a decent app to facilitate fleecing you more easily.
I had to fill out the entire checkout form numerous times because I had to change shipping info after it said I was out of delivery range. I just had a grill delivered from the same store, so it didn't make sense given it was a selectable option. Every glitch made me have to start over. i was offered to give feedback in app, when I tried to give the above feedback, it just said, "oops, try again."
Will not remember my chosen store. I have the correct store selected on the home page, but searches always show the further, larger, store. When I try to change, it claims it's already selected. Makes it impossible to limit search results to things available for pickup. I always have to double check everything in my cart individually, leading me to just go to a big box website instead. Make the pickup filters work and I would love to use this app and support my local store!
Poor performance. The buttons aren't responsive, and they lag, so you find yourself double and triple-tapping before it suddenly flashes to a different page. Also, the "Delivery from Store" feature is broken. The app says in green "This store delivers to your location." But then at checkout it stops and says in red "This store does not deliver to your location." Alright, guess I'll just go to another provider.
It's useful to see your available rewards / offers here instead of having to save cards from the mail, but the app does a poor job of everything else. The best example of this is: When you have a pick up in-store order ready, you get a notification, which is nice. But if you click the notification, it just takes you to a blank page in the app that says "Your online order is ready :)" in ENORMOUS font. It would be helpful to show the order number to show the store workers when picking up...
This app is fine for searching for products and managing rewards, but it is absolutely horrible for purchasing something. Every once in a while it works, but most of the time it tells me I didn't input a recaptcha code, but it never gave me one. Then it declines my card and tells me it's fraud. It's also just extremely slow all around - searching takes forever and forget trying to go back and add or take something out of your cart. I like Ace as a store, so I wish their app was better!
It would be really great if your programmers made it so the "rate our app" and "feedback" prompts didn't pop up while you are trying to manage the cookies pop-up thus pulling you from the cookies management which is difficult, if at all possible to find in thr app. As a result, the app has been unistalled. Before that, it would have received a more favorable review.
Bait n switch tactics. Give credits for downloading app and for birthday, but is excluded from purchases such as circuit breakers, paint and plumbing. Why give me a birthday 'present' that I can't use for what I want? Also, for some reason the app always wants me to know what a store 200 miles away has in stock, says my local store is out of stock...but when I went there they had at least a half dozen of them. Not a good system at this point.
Nothing has still been done. This app and company needs a new IT developer. Major overhaul needed. This app needs some huge changes to get up to speed. One issue is that it frequently signs me out weekly, sometimes daily. It has a hard time connecting to your servers even though I will have full service or strong wifi. And the location settings, it constantly changes your preferred store. Cmon guys please get this figured out.
The app just doesn't work. I changed phones and my sign in information doesn't work. It literally just can't find my information and, when I try to reset my password or outright create a new account, it still can't "find my information" (whatever that means). I probably have to try to call customer support so I can get my app working again. But I can't access my rewards conveniently which makes me more likely to go to home depot or lowes.
This is objectively a terrible app. You know that 5$ bonus on download? You're not going to be able to use it to order anything online or through the app ... they're both broken. I couldn't visit my local store (I was away for the holidays and no store near where I was) and tried to make an order using the discount, following the exclusions but it wouldn't apply in checkout. When I reached out via customer support they said to just go in store. So essentially the app is just a flyer in the mail.
I've tried to purchase items from this app several times. It is not working properly. Problems adding to cart, checking address for delivery, on and on... It is not user friendly. I can't imagine how much business this company loses every day because of a poorly running app. I have already reinstalled it twice which is time consuming because of tying in the rewards.
Overall functionality is very suspect. Will not allow checkout for an item for local pickup; keeps repeating "Select Shipping Method" and will not move forward whether I select pickup or delivery. Guessing out of stock, as it will let me proceed at other locations, but no message for that. Will not accept the coupon code provided for a new app installer, without providing reasons why the coupon isn't accepted. Call customer service, and all they could report was "We haven't heard anyone else having this issue. Just wait a while and see what happens." After a 2hr wait, uninstall, reboot, reinstall, etc, same results. Overall exceedingly poor user experience
6 months later, still can't sign in. For how hard they push the app, you'd think it would at least work! It works for browsing, but unable to sign in to my existing account. "There was an issue processing your request." Still hoping for the the $5 bonus for linking my account. Guess I'll try again in another 6 months, heh. :/ (Tried clearing cache, data. No go.)
This app is absolutely horrible. It deserves 0 stars. It is a massive waste of time. It is virtually impossible to change the store you are shopping at, and when you finally manage to, it changes back to a random store on its own. It runs at a crawl. When I finally managed to select the correct store and place an order, my order got cancelled for no reason and I wound up losing the coupon I tried to use. This app is complete garbage!!!
Cannot get past the first screen as I get an error message every time I put in my ZIP code. "Something went wrong, couldn't find location specified". I have tried pressing on the map, tried "search this area" and this results in a search spinning wheel that never stops. I had the app installed up until last week and I deleted it because it is wonky as hell. Just thought I would try it again just in case there was an update to fix the errors. My local Ace hardware is 3.3 mi away. Pathetic...
I don't know why Ace hardware even bothered to put this app up. It's completely unusable. Slow to load pages or doesn't load them at all and when you place orders and choose to ship your items because they're not in stock at your local store they will take your order, process it and charge you, then cancel it because your local store doesn't have it but you're not ordering from your local store, you're shipping the item from somewhere else because the app/site is telling you it's available.
I can no longer sign in. when I put in my credentials, I just get the spinning animation and it goes nowhere. It's not the wrong password or email because I've deliberately tried 0 info and immediately am told that they are wrong. I have expiring coupons that I don't have physical copies of, and no way to use them without the app.
popups are excessive. anytime I try to pull up a coupon at checkout or look anything up you spend forever trying to get rid of all the popups. Or when trying to use the search bar, a popup will always interrupt your text input so it takes several tries before you can actually type in what you're looking for. once you do manage to enter in a search it takes a bajillion years for anything to load and most images never show up.
