Frustration with the app. For whatever reason, the app. will require me to enter my password at seemingly random times. It wouldn't be an issue but it only seems to happen when I am nowhere near my notebook with all my passwords in it. Trigger times seem slower than they should be. I have mine set to take 2 photos. The first photo seems like it's a little late and the second seems like it misses the animal more times than not, even when the animal is/was walking directly away from the camera.
Could be better. I mean, it works, but why is there no save option for photos? Isn't that the entire point of cameras?! It has every share option under the sun, but no way to save them to mt device. Please update and include a save button! Also, after the latest update, the app won't keep me logged in. Very frustrating.
I do like the spypoint over other cameras, I have 4 of them and really haven't had any problems. The only downfall to the spypoint is they don't allow camera sharing without being a club member. Unlike other apps that do. I've found that can be a nice feature to not have to pay for. Odds are, next year, I'll probably switch to reveal for that reason. So I had to drop them down a star.
Was working great for a few years. Worse though is the fact that all cameras have full batteries, and subscriptions are paid and about a week ago, pictures just quit updating. Mid season is a terrible time to be making apparently experimental app changes. Several times now I've checked and there has been plenty of of sign in front of the cameras. They just aren't taking pictures and/or not sending them to the app. I didn't even see myself through the app when the cameras were shooting.
I don't know what's going on but this last month (Aug) has been terrible. I can see the cameras communicate, but the App is not working. I asked for a picture each communication .. nothing. I have made sure all updates current, uninstalled and reinstalled, logged out/in and NOTHING. I'm paying for unlimited and get nothing. my cameras are 2 hours away, so I count on the app to work!!! thinking of going with a different camera system as this is terrible and don't get me started about the support
Had a camera stop working a month ago. Needed to drive out there and spend 40 min on the phone with support. Now three days later none of my cameras are sending photos correctly. Two or three come through in a 12 hour period. More show up in the app a few minutes later. If this continues, I may transition to another brand of cell camera.
Been trying to update payment info. No link in app or on page that I can find. Tried emailing, just a canned reply that was no help. Tried emailing a second time and no reply. Tried calling manufacturer and after going on hold, call was disconnected...twice. I like their equipment, but customer service is terrible for what should be a simple question.
Cameras are constantly needing to be reset manually because they stop sending photos. This combined with their customer service being, at best, the equivalent of customer service at the VA. App is fine, but you can't actually do anything you need to through the app other than look at your pics (assuming your camera is still taking them) and a few other small things that are of zero use if your camera isn't working. Haha
I've been running Spypoint cameras for 5 years now. Nothing has improved. There is always an issue with either the hardware or software. Most recently, the app is terrible. Received multiple notifications that I've received new pictures, but when I pull up the app, no pictures load. The cost for unlimited pictures is still too high, even for insiders members like myself. Would not recommend it to anyone and will not renew the membership.
Everything about the service is garbage, the camera, the app, and the customer service. The camera is less than a year old and I've lost everything twice. I had to purchase two new SD cards to replace them. I purposely got the camera with the additional battery pack because it's over two hours away. I constantly need to drive up there and "restart" the camera on MY dollar. They have a faulty product and customer service. Myself, and my friends/family will be going to a competitors brand.
I totally agree with many other ratings; app no longer receives pictures even with a strong cell signal. My cameras are set to send a test picture at check-in but never receive anything. Sometimes, pictures show up without notification, hours or a day later. Used to take 30 seconds when I would walk in front of a camera till I got the pictures on the app. Don't know what bugs and fixes were supposed to be taken care of in the last update? Seems to have created more than fixed.
Last year the cameras worked great. This year been having big issues. One will not connect to cell service even where another camera shows connectivity. Another shows cellular connectivity and full batteries, but the app shows it in the same place it was last year, not where I put it this year. To top it all off, I cannot connect to any cameras through the app this year. I keep getting an error "Oops something went wrong. Reload and try again ", however they will not load.
I've held off writing a review but not anymore. This app and camera are terrible. Signs me out constantly giving me some error message. I don't get pictures for days with 100% signal then get hammered with 100+ pictures. Literally drove a combine by the camera and it didn't take a picture. Sent an email in early November with no response on my issues. Not sure what else to try at this point. Time to switch to a better company.
Logs me out too many times. 2. Prices are expensive and having to pay for HD photos is ridiculous. Overall it's a good camera but it's price to own just one is 👎. Also, they trick you into buying a $100 membership making you think you have the "unlimited plan" which is not 0. They still charge you a monthly fee. Don't waste your time.
Biggest piece of junk! Always having issues, 1 may work, but the other one does not! I have changed micro sd cards, formatted, moved cameras, replaced batteries, and on and on! Went from having green light (good service to NO service) keep in mind camera wasn't touched! I've been working on it for a week, and cannot get a signal, I even took it out to eat with me to see if I could get service in town (NOTHING BUT A RED LIGHT)... I will not be buying anymore of these cameras! Thisbis our 4th one.
Terrible! I have two cameras. And they work when they want too. Was forced to update the app. Lost my camera information, had to re-activate both. Didn't work, un-installed and re-installed to get it to take. Updated the firmware on one, doesn't work at all aftewards. One keeps sending me pictures every single minute, then randomly stopped all together. Spypoint offers 100 free HD photos in a certain time frame. I now gave 2 high tech paperweights. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 LINK MICRO LTE S/V
Horrible product and customer service. As I write this review I've currently been on hold for over 30 minutes trying to cancel my subscription and this isn't my first attempt either. Poor quality pictures, can stand infront of camera waving my hand and it not take pictures, rechargeable battery didn't even last a month, it ate regular batteries regardless of brand. In the top 5 of my biggest purchase regrets.
Update: It gets even worse. Now pictures send days late when set to send on capture. I have a 100% signal. Every update makes it more awful. It's hard to believe, but they keep making this app worse. The camera takes forever to notify of activity. Now it's even more difficult to download photos. I don't recommend anyone to buy a spypoint camera.
