My daughter and I always use the app when we're food shopping so we can keep an eye on how much we're spending. Lately it hasn't been working and no idea why
**UPDATE ** app now working again, thank you! App worked perfectly until I did an update recently. Now it won't scan the barcodes. A green box appears around the barcodes but simply won't scan. Shame really, I found it extremely used beforehand.
I don't know what they have done can't even use it to scan anything and when you go to the checkout the QC reader doesn't work most the time and when you are disabled you don't need to be standing there waiting to see if it works
New app is SO SLOW to scan (I use a Samsung S25 Ultra so it's not my phone). Unlike Sainsbury's who automatically link your Nectar membership to their Smartshop app, this app won't automatically apply your Asda Rewards membership 😑 You have to open up another app to get the barcode to scan. If you forget, rewards lost. The camera scanner doesn't seem to be as reliable as Sainsbury's for some reason.
Have used this app for a few years now. Recently several items taking a few go's to scan successfully. Last twice I've been in store, been logged out and unable to get past the widget to sign in again. Have been locked out for nearly 2weeks this time. Checked to see if update due, no. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, still no joy. Not happy and seriously considering a move to a different supermarket for ease of shop. No time to stand in a queue to scan all over again.
Scanned a full shop got to screen after scanning barcode to transfer got error and no one could help why had to wait in que again and waste more time
have used the app for years. have tried to use it the last 2 weeks but I can't sign in. u installed the app and reinstalled it but still unable to use it. when entering the username and password the verification bar keeps going in circles before I've hit enter. disappointed as its worked well for years
poor update , doesn't scan anything no idea what the green box is doing, doesn't align with most barcodes, worked perfectly fine before, update wasn't needed, used to be 5*
Used to work well but since the new version launched, I cannot scan anything. The red square around the barcode will not recognise the product. Bring back the old version!
Absolutely awful. I downloaded the app as there was no charged handsets in the store. at least 3 items in the store scanned at over £700, obviously I noticed but it was a nightmare removing and re scanning, double checking prices and it led to me missing a pack of eggs. When I went to checkout I had an accuracy scan, the eggs were missing (took 4 scans and came in at over £700)... which led to having to unpack my entire weeks shopping for it all to be scanned and rebagged. Total nightmare.
latest app update has made it go even further below 1/5 stars. very slow to scan, some stupid barcode detection has been added making the process even slower. keep screen on no longer works app now also turns off if you dont use it a dreadful experience, but its asda I expected nothing more.
Have used this app for several years and until now apart from an occasional issue with logging in it has been a handy app in store. Unfortunately after the latest updates the app has become unusable as the scanner no longer recognises lots of barcodes despite multiple attempts at scanning making it impossible to use it for its sole purpose of scanning as you shop. Sadly just another reason why it's not worth shopping in Asda any more.
This used to be a good app but problematic now. 1. Items don't scan properly, a different item gets added at times. 2. You remove something from the scanned items, you get chosen for 'quality check' where bags are required to be unpacked to rescan few items. 3. When Subject to 'quality check', if the person scans an incorrect bar code, the entire shopping needs rescanned. This app is for faster and easier checkouts but doing opposite off late for me and causes unnecessary embarrassment.
Dont bother!!! No longer able to login. I have been logged out of the scan and go app, I'm then aksed to log back in by being forwarded to the website log in page, however after putting my details in it just sits there with the verifying cloud fare rotating and after a while asking me to send feedback. So now I can no longer use this to complete my shopping. Totally useless.
since this app has been updated. can't scan anything in store, had to manually put in the bar code. ( luckily, it was a small shop) went to the till to pay , and I wouldn't scan the QR code . staff didn't know what to do , in the end I had to go to the main tills. removed the app and reinstalled it, but it hasn't worked!
Badly developed, occasional signing me out after updating and asking me to use Chrome or Firefox to sign-in. The screen view of the barcode is ridiculously large making the ability to read and scan items slow and long. The ability to view items already scanned is a nightmare with a last minute toggle to view items instead of scrolling in the same screen.
Not impressed with this recent update. I always select 'keep scanner on', but after 20 seconds the screen kept turning off and I'd have to tap the screen each time which is hugely frustrating whilst holding your phone, a shopping list, an item of shopping and pushing the trolley! Then it wouldn't scan any items after a while. When I got to the till, the app had logged me out and all previously scanned items were gone, meaning I had to scan my whole shop all over again 😠
Logged me out and no longer able to get back in, told me to install Chrome, did that, still doesn't work. Not able to get past the log on screen, asks for email and password, then it comes up with "Oops something went wrong, try again later." Nearly 2 weeks without it and trying again but nothing is working. Uninstalled and reinstalled but nothing working.
Absolutely useless. I thought I would try it as our local Asda (not) super store is always running out of self checkout scanners. Did my shop, scanned my items, but then instead of letting me check out it just tells me to go to a checkout. Asda has really gone down hill. Never enough trolleys and those they have are difficult to push. Looking forward to when our new Aldi opens just down the road so I don't have to go there.
Can't change camera, the main camera on my phone isn't suitable for scanning things up close, it can't focus but other cameras on my phone can. But the app doesn't let me change the camera to use for scanning barcodes. So I have to enter the barcode manually for half my shop... You have to log in to use the app from day 1 but to this day they still don't auto enable asda rewards associated with the same account.
