I have had nothing but a great experience with this app, and find myself using it far more than the fascist youtube app for all my documentaries! I've read some of the other reviews about this app, and though I understand they may have had some minor issues, I on the other hand haven't at all. Hell I'll get to work early sometimes, just to set in the parking lot to Finnish up a documentary from the previous day or start a new one, not that I don't listen to it on the way to work to begin with!!!

I used this last year and now again. Fantastic deal for $19.99 a year. It has been perfect. Great content and not a single problem. I live way out there with no Wi-Fi. When I head to town I download and save a few hours of content with the grocery store Wi-Fi or wherever and it saves me tons of data. It did take 2 times to sign up with my card. When I used this last time, I had no idea their was even an app. I used my phones browser and it did freeze. I changed browsers.

Great deal for a year's worth of subscription. Good programs, maybe not always Nat Geo quality, but so far have enjoyed what I've watched. I love documentaries. App on Roku won't let you select other episodes, but phone app has been easy and intuitive. (If you want to change episodes on Roku select the episode on your phone, play for 30 seconds, and then reopen it on Roku and it'll let you resume watching on it.)

I love the service, the content choices and quality of productions. However, the "Resume" watching button does not work, when I come back to continue watching on another day it starts back at the beginning every time. There is no forward or reverse option and it's close to impossible to figure out where I left off. Are there fixes in the works for these items?

It's not a bad app but it would be great if it had an option to add a kids profile instead of having the entire account 'kid friendly'. I like to watch 0 crime but I don't want that to be an option for my kids and I don't want to have to login to change it to kid friendly every time they want to watch something. Edit: Even with kids mode turned on, Murder Maps is still available. How exactly is something that talks about Jack the Ripper and many other murders kid friendly?!

Solid app at a good price. Great content. Very informative. But uses way too much data, and still manages to buffer somehow when I have full service bars, or full Wi-Fi. And it's not the service, or the wifi, because youtube, Netflix, and porn stream just fine. Doesn't let me pick up where I left off after closing, and reopening the app. Overall great service, but unsubscribing due to over-usage of my data. I've watched around 8-9 hours of content, and wasted 8gbs of data. Improve data utilization, and I will re-subscribe with a 5 star review.

The app does its job well (responsive, beautiful, intuitive) but can only ever be as good as the streaming service it channels, and while there’s a lot of great content available, there's a perplexing shortage of art docs. It's so bad that there isn't an Arts section -- closest you can get is Lifestyles -> Creativity, and even that's polluted by non-art documentaries. Worst of all, the search function isn't very intelligent, so searching "Art" brings up docs with the letters "art" in the name.

No matter what I do this thing lags and is blurry and overall the visual is less than stellar. I love the shows just not how they appear. Closed caption is always behind by at least four to five words. I expected better output. It's grainy like it's from my childhood. Irritates my eyes at times. Please fix this we literally use this for homeschool, so I would absolutely appreciate a better experience.

I love the content on Curiosity Stream especially for the price. The problem is I've found that the downloads feature is pretty poor. I will click "Download" on a video and if I leave the app, the download will seemingly stop. The worst part is, when you restart the download, it starts over. It does not save the content it supposedly already downloaded. This creates an infinite loop making downloads impossible unless you leave the app open during the whole process, which can be a while.

The content is great, but the app is not. Its options do not work as they are presented. For example, I shouldn't have to add each episode of a series individually to my playlist. If you have a button that says "start series" it should automatically go from one episode to the next. Casting the app works mostly, but is glitchy at times. Browsing content is easy, but I think it could be condensed a little more, so more content is seen per page.

Good app, terrible selection. The app itself is easy to navigate, there are just some small improvements needed, like with the picture in picture. it doesnt have usable forward, backward, or pause within the picture. The app also has a problem with exiting out, sometimes if you close everything it continues playing. Aside from that the programs available are EXTREMELY LIMITED. I have yet to look something up and gotten results for what i was looking for.

App functionality is poor. Streaming speed is slow and leads to poor viewing quality. Downloading can help, but it will not download in the background. When you lock the screen it will automatically pause. If you click the power button to glance at the screen to take a quick look and then lock it again, it will pause. The library is ok. You are basically paying $5 a month so someone can put together a library of YouTube educational shows for you made by smart people. You could just do YouTube.

I miss the curiosity app 😕 im not always able or up to watching a video, and the app was my favorite thing. I loved being able to open my phone and learn new, interesting things in short form and then if i wanted to know more i could expand it. It was the best app and i miss it so much as weird as that may sound. I dont get why they had to do this and get rid of the original app just because theyre part of the discovery family now?

The programs are generally very good. However, trying to pause, rewind, or resume a program is a nightmare! Also, it takes so long to watch something with it constantly stopping then loading and playing a few seconds then stopping again to load more of the same program. It's not my internet connecting because other media apps run smoothly. I tend to get so frustrated waiting an hour or more to watch a 30-45 minute program that I just shut it off disappointed and upset.

This app is terrible. How do you have a video streaming app that has no way of controlling the videos? It's common to get into a situation where a video is playing and you can't stop, pause, or control it in any way, other than just force closing the entire app. Also it claims you can save videos for offline viewing, but most videos don't have that option. And the ones that do, many don't work.

Wish I could get my money back on my subscription... Not only is most of the content very old, often outdated, but I downloaded several videos for a long flight I was taking and when I went to play them it just kept saying "server error". Tried to re-download them and others for the return flight and same thing happened. Only one of about 10 worked. I'd stick to YouTube if I were you.
