works well ,it's not as cheap as some but it's better than most
New guest mode works well without a cloud login. Thanks Devolo! A useful network management app. The name could do with a change though - some of us have more than Devolo kit at home so a better name might be "Devolo home network".
good support for wifi network
The app says that it doesn't work with devolo 500 series, but, if I tap the "client" tab at the bottom of the interface it lists my old devolo 500's and then offers to open their web interface allowing me to access my old devolo devices. So, it sort of works after all. Good.
Hard time to install... I ended up configuring them all in the same room then changing their position once done. The app is very good! One important thing that people should know is that you have to be connected to a devolo wifi to see the devices!
my house has this whole network and as long as you do not try to have 2 routers then they are fine.
It works and it does not need a WiFi (I have LAN model). However, there's not much to see and do in the app. There's just a link to the web config page for each found Devolo device. OK, but I don't need an app for that. I expected to be able to log into and link with Devolo devices so that I could see all details easily and change all settings without having to use the web config interface of each device. The app should make this convenient, otherwise I'm not sure of its purpose. Thanks.
Clear and simple. There are a lot of technology settings and the app could do with a reference area helping to understand some of the stuff. I am still not sure for instance if my WiFi mesh is correctly setup as the signal is not very strong in my outside office and I still see some devolo### networks.
App itself working very well, and identifies all devolo devices on my network. But why, WHY are you using Speedtest dot net from Ookla? It is very well known that the Ookla Speedtest is extremely unreliable in the UK. Furthermore, the Ookla 5G map is grossly inaccurate, with shocking omissions and factually incorrect data. Please consider a more reliable and respected speedtest provider - and your fifth star will be granted.
Edited for new version: Offers 'Continue as Guest' on the login screen which is an improvement, but still asks are you sure when clicked. App is useful for a quick glance at WiFi clients and powerline device speeds. As noted by another review, the devices are local network only devices. If I want to register the devices, I'll use a browser to do so, like I have to use a browser to setup/manage my dLAN 1200+ WiFi ac anyways.
Great app until the magic 2 WiFi 6... Purchased over 100 of the WiFi 6 units as use them for our customers. However the WiFi 6 units don't exactly work out the box like the previous 5s did. The devices are not visible on the app until you update the firmware on them to the latest version (5.9.5) and as not visble on the app it's a little bit long winded to get them updated. Please fix this in a app update and the stars will change to 5 as it is a good easy to use app!
I don't understand why the app only supports the WiFi Repeater 1200 but not the 'Wifi ac Repeater'. Newer WiFi Repeater+ ac, 3000 & 5400 repeaters are also supported together with the dlan 1200+ WiFi ac. Should the app be updated to support ALL repeaters?
Useless. Can't see any devices, tries to log into router but won't allow password entry. Would give 0 stars if that were possible. Addendum: it turns out that my Devolo Wi-Fi adapter is not supported by the app. This takes some finding, though - it would be helpful to have a compatibility list before installing. Hence no change in rating, but Devolo support have been very helpful.
Does not complete the firmware update. Also the magic 2 wifi next package only gives about a quarter of the speed going into the router. All in all certainly not worth the high end cost. Well the response from Devlo below is quite ironic seeing as though this is meant to sort out the stability. I also tried to do the update via the cockpit and wired. This updated one adapter but not the other. Also I have emailed support and to date I have not had any responses.
PC windows 10 version has never worked....fails to recognise devices. This app worked fine on my android phone when first installed but now fails to recognise devices (I have 4 around the house) so all in all, totally useless! All devices are working fine as is my network. Devolo, why develop an app which fails to work?
I now need to register for an account to use this app. Was working great and now this, no thanks! Note: Clicking on register allows you to continue as guest
Terrible app compares to the competition. Feels like early 2010 with the need to go on a webpage to change any setting. Such a shame.
Doesn't work I have older dlan 500 & 550 duo+ devices that will only work if firmware is newer than 2018. If older devices you need the devolo cockpit program for win/mac/linux. Had to borrow a windows machine. The 550 duo+ update is exe only, says its installed but the date doesn't change on the adapter. The 500 is an install file that cockpit says isnt compatible with this device. Germany is slow in responding and tell you to go download the drivers that don't work. I give up . . .
