Paired it easily with Galaxy S22 Ultra. The bad: Very limited, won't work if flash is set to fill, or if shooting mode is set to continuous. The good: You can use it as a remote control in SOME modes, and it does not insist on copying the image back to the phone unless you tell it to. (My Nikon app does that, slows everything down for something I have no need for.) The verdict: Not worth the bother, just use the timer on the camera if you want to avoid shake.
An absolutely useless app that does literally nothing correct and works about as well as anything that sony has ever done. Which is to say the company is well past its prime in the 80s and is a shambling husk that for some reason continues into the 21st century. I cannot think of any app quite as worthless and useless as this one. Just get a card reader with a usb-c connection if you need to dump on the go.
Ridiculous that you are required to turn on your GPS to simply run the app! If you run the app, it tells you to turn on your GPS. Click OK without turning it on, then it exits the app. Useless. Maybe I want to take pictures without Geo tagging them. Useless. The claims turning on the GPS is necessary when connecting with wifi or Bluetooth, which simply isn't 0. I have a different app that doesn't require this. The old app was far better and less restrictive. Extremely disappointed in Sony.
App constantly runs in the background hours after use, and also doesn't connect automatically when the camera is turned on! You can use Microsoft 'Link to Windows' app as an example. When the PC is turned on it connects and when PC is turned off it disconnects and stops running in the background. For a company like Sony, lazy programming is a shame
Camera remote functions are ok, but it takes forever to get the app to connect to your phone. Forget transferring images to your phone. Files are too small even for social media. I am adding to this review and dropping it down to one star. It is a POS! I have been trying to get it to work for the last hour and it will not work! I'm done! It SUCKS!
This app for the most part just does not work. One moment it works as intended, and then it just stops working for the entire photo shoot. I do real estate photography and being able to take composite shots remotely is extremely important to my workflow. When I cant view and change camera settings away from the camera, it takes me 3 times as long to shoot a listing. Depending on this app and having it just die in the middle of a shoot and being unable to reconnect for the rest of the session just kills my productivity. Its embarrassingly bad when on client jobs, I lose time and valuable daylight, this app just does not work.
They broke it. The previous iteration worked fine(app icon was orange at the time), I had no issues connecting to my phone. The current version of the app is useless, will not connect to your phone. Doesn't matter that my phone and camera are connected to the same wifi network. Doesn't matter that they're connected via Bluetooth... It's not working. 0 stars. Plus, look at how long this issue has been ongoing? This is a months old issue and they still haven't fixed it.
