The app is very helpful in many ways. The list on truck stops on your route is often off. It does not populate some rest areas and truck stops.
The Samsung Push Service is one of those apps that sits in the background, handling push notifications for Samsung’s ecosystem — things like Samsung Pay, Galaxy Store, Samsung Cloud, and so on. If you’re deep into their services, it’s doing its job without much fuss. That said, I have a few issues with it. It feels like bloatware if you don’t use Samsung’s core apps. It’s not something you can uninstall, and it doesn’t offer any kind of interface or control panel. It just runs.
Most of the issues I have stem from the apps giving or not giving notifications. That said, I am no longer able to find the option. To have separate sounds for notifications from different apps... which I found really useful given some apps give alerts just when they activate, but I would like to differentiate between that and a text, when driving.. so I can know if I should pull over to see said text and not just see it was my car's movement activating something.
I have no experience with this app, I can't open it but like several other apps I can't open, it updates constantly. I have permissions for this app and auto updates turned off, but that doesn't stop it. This and several others all the sudden shows up and is using tons of data and storage. I'm notified it updated every day or two, I try to open it and end up here, with no option to open or uninstall. Can't force stop either.
I'm using Samsung for 4 years now (S8, S9+, Note 10+) but I can't understand why it is so hard to fix simple (and most important) thing such as notifications. Some of them are late, some are delivered differently on wi fi and mobile data, many times display doesn't light up...I mean, I'm getting pretty tired of paying high price and then using phone with ton of bloatware that can't even get notifications right. You're not small company, devices are not cheap, step up your game !
ANOTHER APP I CAN'T DELETE AS THE OWNER BS!!! I wish I could give 0 stars!! This is the whole reason I will NEVER have another Samsung or Android!!! I have very little room on my phone and I don't want these bloat apps! At least give us the option to delete or disable. I just don't understand!! Plus using space at data! Just bs!!!
This app is by far the worst. It is unfathomable to see this many 5 star ratings. Since it is a service that can't be installed I would be hard pressed to imagine that anyone proactively spent time reviewing it. I was FLOORED to see that a marketing ad disguised as an app notification was showing up on my cell marketing the Note20 (I have Note8). Most egregious misuse of power I've observed. Longtime Samsung customer (even with the Note 7 debacle) officially switching to iphone.
The description of the app does not really explain what it does. As the only notification category it provides is "marketing" and the description just says it provides notifications, I assume it is just that - a push marketing channel, which I don't want but cannot uninstall. I can turn off notifications, but why does it also require phone permissions?
Would give this app 0 stars if it was an option. I can't stop it from trying to update and I can't delete it. I need to download an app and I can't download anything until this stupid thing updates. It says it needs wifi but it still doesn't update when I am on wifi. 2 days of "pending" status and still not updated. What the heck is wrong with it?
Annoying Spyware with persistent push notifications to use other Samsung Spyware. 1. An always-on service to track your location and notify you when you are close to Samsung stores. 2. A phone finder service which can find your phone when offline by spying on other Samsung phones in vicinity. You can opt-out of it but not from alerting all Samsung phones in your vicinity anyway! 3. Galaxy store to force feed you more bloat/crapware. 4. 500 char review limit. Can't list it all. Ads be everywhere.
Lots of issues have occured since the last update. Having to power down phone, switch airplane mode, or use my background app killer to close this and everything else out, or my phone will act like it has no service, even when I have 4 bars, or it will say I am roaming and 1 bar, then, while staying in the same exact spot, I can switch phone to airplane mode for a few seconds, take airplane mode back off, and boom I have 4 bars LTE.
I have used Samsung devices exclusively since November 2009...I got a little Samsung ReClaim with a slide-down keyboard, the most rudimentary beginnings of web connectivity. No touch screen. That began my Android journey. (Thanks to Radio Shack and Sprint, RIP to both.) I miss the days before smartphones. That long-gone phone had a FANTASTIC camera (Samsung STILL gets THAT right, at least.) With developer mode active, I STILL can't restrict Samsung bloatware. WHY? It's my device, let ME choose.
This unnecessary app. It doesn't help and hate that it adds updates of unnecessary ads and apps on my devices. I wish that could uninstall it from my internal memory storage. I liked it better without all these updates and unnecessary ad, commercials, apps that it gets from updating. Also, it does not make no differences at all with receiving notifications and it does not feel very secure at all on my Samsung Galaxy A03s and Samsung Galaxy Tab-A devices.
Ever notice that there is a constant stream of apps you "must have" and that are constantly being "updated" with permissions they need in order for your phone to work correctly or for you to have an "enhanced" experience. Bloatware at best! Every app should have a truthful "Essential" label and a delete button if it's not so it could be deleted for good at the user's discretion. Crapware!
Spyware? I don't know. Unnecessary? Almost certainly. I've disabled this so-called "app" on numerous older handsets and it hasn't made the slightest bit of difference: I still get notifications about SMS, calls, calendar events etc. I have no smart devices, no phone sharing, and no third party apps for essential functions. Certainly for me, and probably for many others like me, this is a waste of internal memory space. It needs to be made delete-able, pronto.
Please fix calls! As a cellphone, it has one purpose it has to do, make and receive calls. With these updates, I can't receive calls because there is no screen to answer! Even the lock screen does not show the call. Uninstalling update solves the issue. Fix this or don't push it upon us. Until then I've got to unusual every few days because it's a system app. Absolute garbage. So close to moving away from Samsung for this!
Change back the pull-down notification panel/ shortcut access menu. 10 out of 10 people I have personally interacted with are in agreement with these said statements. The new update is infuriatingly bad. I will not change rating until then.
Stop. I have functional use of my phone. I use my phone when I need to use it and notifications are entirely unnecessary for me. I wish I could stop this service, along with the other Samsung apps. The only one I use is Samsung keyboard because a keyboard is a keyboard in my opinion. All these additional services are the equivalent of obesity - just extra stuff I really don't need or want. Bloatware. Malware. Spyware. And stop with targeted things that worship advertising.
Another app that I can't uninstall, disable, or restrict background activity. It acts up in the background randomly for no apparent reason as I didn't allow it such permissions, thus draining my battery rapidly. I'm excellent with tech and far from clueless. This is ridiculous because the average user will be completely lost and think their battery is defective when it's the OS itself that's defective. Android is an advertising system, NOT a legitimate operating system.
