We have over 500 active users in our soccer club and successfully manage all of our communications. We have implemented every feature of Team App including; Fixtures for our ten teams, Latest News keeping all players & members up to date & even Store allowing us to sell apparel, event ticketing & sponsorship linked to their payment partner. The Chat feature allows our members to communicate directly with one another, including team-managers as they manage parents and players. We have over 10,000 activations per month all within one convenient app. Our aim is to grow our use of Team App.
I’ve been using Team App for a few season as a Club member and now as an administrator. It pretty much does everything we could ask for as far as being a central portal for all our documents, notifying members, team lists/availabilities, purchase tickets or apparel. I really like the store which was easy to set up and integrates with a trusted 3rd party app for payment collection. The one major plus is that I have kids playing different sports and they both use Team App. So one App to buy apparel, get team updates, buy tickets to events, and read the latest news across two seperate sports. Brilliant. Would be 4.5 stars but I can’t tick half a star. The extra half star comes if it looked a bit prettier, but that’s being picky. Thanks for your kind review much appreciated.
I’m an age group coordinator and we have 10 teams in our age group. I set up an access group for each team and one for the managers and coaches. The app does everything I need it to especially fast communications when I need to get urgent notices to my managers & coaches. Each team also easily communicates internally. It was very easy to set up, even for a novice like me. I am still working through a couple of the functions to understand what they are for (e.g. scheduling) and we are not using all functions as there is a separate club website. The feedback I have from my managers is that they also really like it. A great app!!
I still like the app, but I am changing the rating because of the fact that when you post pictures in the gallery, some of the pictures you post don't show up. This might just be a phone by phone thing though, but it gets annoying enough to where it's noticeable, on the Team app website, however, it works great. Other than that though, the app rocks!
Can not undo an item or a team once it is on the web page. May 29 Update. I had a lot of problems when I first tried to load this web page onto my cell phone. Made a few mistakes and could not undo the mistakes. Went back into the site a week later and resolved some issues and found a way to undo some errors. I also needed help from another team member to get the site to work properly. It is now running fine, but the site is very difficult to set up. I would think Team App could make their site a bit more user friendly.
Adding items to the schedule is SO ANNOYING and inconvenient. Here's an idea, allow changes to all teams be done by checking "all times" or "all time slots," in addition to being able to uncheck some time slots if they don't need to be removed. Sometimes we have to add an event to a certain day and remove the original time but omg the amount of time it takes to remove each slot is excruciating!
This app is ok. I use it as a teacher/coach... It's not very clear in terms of how to use. Video/photo sharing is quite the challenge. On my pixel I cannot upload a previously taken photo or video, only from within the app. The video sharing is not great as it says 1 minute time limit but often gives an error message with 36+ seconds.
Been very disappointed with teamapp the last two years in particular for a number of reasons, as a long time user it feels like things need to go back to basics. In group chat rooms messages send twice or text disappears from words - consistently happening now for 18-24months despite being reported numerous times. Some menus such as when you go to the live score updates - the text is in white and now also the colour bar behind it is white up the top so you can’t read or see where to click to go back or add a note! For joining new members, the amount of REQUIRED information is obscene. Most people joining teamapp for the first time are new junior parents and people who hardly know your club - and are uncomfortable giving out this type of information. Far too much to ask of people simply joining to keep up to date on a sports club app. Becoming more of a barrier to its use that is worthwhile for people to join. Clumsy and loopy when logging in via the site for the first time also in creating the account process. Puts people off using it which makes it hard for us a drive it. Some of the features are great but over time things like this have worn me down from a strong proponent to a major critic. If can sort out the user experience and go back to the purpose of its existence for what it serves, then hopefully can be swayed back. Thanks for your comprehensive review much appreciated. In regards to the chat issue you describe would you mind emailing [email protected] with a small video so we can see the issue. Its not something I have seen reported before. In regards to signup information all we ask for is is the basics, including name and email. We do this so we can authenticate the user. Additional information may be what your club in requesting. Developers really need to make this app more like Game Changer. This app is only good for messaging your team and adjusting your schedule. It would also be nice if it interacted more seamlessly with the admin side of the desktop sports connect back end... For example, when a coach is assigned to a team, they should get an email explaining how to use Stack Team App and get their team info without trying too hard.
Outdated, but mostly works. If you accidentally post in the wrong chat channel (which is VERY easy to do since clicking notifications on your phone doesn't navigate to that comment), you cannot delete even though there is an option for it. I'm sure this is a bug. The UI is outdated and there is no support opportunities to answer questions. It's old, but it technically works.
Can not log in on app. I have had this app for 3.5 years. First year it worked fine- it was just Team App then. Then it changed and I can only see some info on app. Such as team schedule, news & documents. I have to log in on my computer to see the chat room. Tried deleting app & reloading. This is nuts! Last year i could not see any updates the team makes on my phone. What's the point!
Way To Many 0 (or repeated) Notifications. I'll get a notification. I click through and read to message, see the pictures whatever. Later I'll get another notification - but it's for the same item - that I've already looked at. It happens A LOT. I ignored it for a while. But now you're also running lots of ads. Lots of fake notifications+ lots of ads is a REALLY SHADY combination. Make it seem like the repeat notifications aren't a big, but are a feature. Not cool.
Meh. This app is the worst of all the team apps I've used. The ads are overwhelming! Everytime I want to check the calendar for game time, it takes and extra 1-2 minutes to wait for the page to load all the static ads, then wait for the ad that plays, to exit it out, to see game time. And it really sucks because we have two games on 1 day, so repeat to check the other game location. Click to remove ads: no price listed. What?!?! I repeat: THERE IS NO PRICE LISTED FOR REMOVE ADS. Just buy button
This app would be OK if we only had one team using it, but when there are more, it's just too glitchy. My biggest complaint is clicking on a notification dumps you into the most recent feed you viewed. So if the basketball coach sends a message, but the last feed I viewed was the softball team, clicking the basketball notification dumps me back into the softball feed. Not ideal. Also, feeds require too much manual effort to refresh. There are better options available.
App is constantly flashing. Can't click on anything. If it eventually decides to stop I can't look at the posted scores. Every time I scroll down it leaps right back to the top even with my finger on the screen. I get that it's a free app but it's awful and I absolutely hate that my kids team uses it. Doesn't matter how many times I force stop, clear data/cache, uninstall/reinstall the app it just keeps flashing making it utterly useless since I can't even click on the team.
It just keeps getting worse. Now, I can't even get the damn thing to open. Uninstall, reinstall, clear cache, clear storage, force stop, uninstall, reinstall. This is bloody well ridiculous. If you're doing maintenance or something, couldn't you put up a damn message saying the app is down. If that's not what's happening, could you maybe just get it together so the app is accessible? I mean seriously, I still wish our team would have picked literally anything else for communication.
Sucks! If there is a new chat started I do not get notifications, regardless if my notification setting for the app itself is enabled. I have to physically enable notifications for each chat that is open but if I do not check the app for several days then I may miss important information or reminders. -- Hate this app. I wish I didn't have to use it.
Probably one of the worst apps for organizing. The UI is horrendous and for some reason you have to sit through an add after every screen. The last update, made me lose my "teams" and try to search for them, I was tricked into clicking on an ad. Would also be great if you let people creating teams know how many ads and the shady UI to force clicks.
Scam Pop-Up Ads!!! Wife downloaded app, as required by school. A full-screen ad popped up requiring credit card info. Unfortunately, she entered the full CC info, before understanding it was a scam. I'm not sure if the app developers are scammers, but I know that they allow scammers to place deceptive ads on their app... so that's the same impact. Now, I had to cancel our credit cards and have them re-issued, which is a massive waste of time! Ugh!!!
The old colour branding (green and black, definitely not my fav colours, but…) made Team App stand out on my busy Home Screen - was fantastic. New colours look like Superman (which is cool) but no longer stand out which is a big step backwards for the app and makes it frustrating and time consuming to locate the App. Even a quick visual check for new notifications is now difficult. Overall Boohoo
