For a free user, it's definitely a bit more of a learning curve and less versatile than the old version, but for someone that just wants to read data from a few sensors, it's still the best app available. It's also nice to have unlimited free widgets. I just really wish they kept multiple data streams on the supercharts, as I want to be able visually compare a few variables. Like the old version, the titles for the widgets are too small for my phone.

I liked the legacy version where almost everything was simple and clear and you can do ALOT for FREE. I mean I get it, going enterprise is something everybody wants to do, but now with this newer version, not only it is complicated, you can do only few things with the free tier, alot of things are only limited to the PRO version subscribers. Subscription prices are waay high for a hobbyist. Will still use it though, but not with a big smile on.

The Blynk 2.0 system takes some time to migrate from the Blynk Legacy system. Once I transfered my project and got more familiar with the Blynk Console, I actually like the new system. In particular the WiFi provisioning system is a major upgrade. My disappointment lies in the new pricing system. The legacy system was perfect for DIYers, like myself, for small home projects where you are only using a couple of devices. Additional widgets could be purchased with energy, which I invested a fair amount in. In Blynk 2.0 the widgets are extremely limited and my previous projects and layouts will not work without upgrading to one of the pricing plans. I am not trying to commercialize my projects, so joining a subscription doesn't make sense. I recognize the hard work that the Blynk Developers have put into this ecosystem and would be happy to "pay my dues" for that work. However, I would like to see something where I could purchase all the widgets perpetually for a one time fee.

A big step backwards , way harder to use , no digital pins so you have to write code for everything , no simple timers that can be added and set direct from your phone as in the legacy version, can't switch pins with Google assistant as before , oh and now you have to pay , I would pay for the legacy version but not this .

When I had the previous version of Blynk I spent a few dollars on energy which is now worthless. I think at least they could make the amounts spent on energy available in subscription discounts. Even so, I won't pay as it's a non-commercial learning project. The widgets available on the free plan are VERY limited. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm going to look for another more complete platform that serves me free of charge for small projects.

Pretty disappointed. Legacy Blynk was great - had a ton of widgets, and was intuitive to use. Now even with payment, they lack many widgets from the old version. I used and paid for old Blynk for its ease of use & feature set, but now I'm better off putting in the time to develop full custom solutions since they've removed everything that made it good & easy to use.

Coming from the original Blynk app this is a significant step backwards. As an End user I was unable to complete the setup of a device or delete devices that was not properly configured. Hit the free account device limit, with no obvious way to remove devices or attempt to correct issues with partially setup devices.

software turned to subscription, at crazy pricing. Far too expensive for its value. We found another solution that's much less expensive (free) and worked much better for our application than blynk did. Mit app inventor is what are using now, small learning curve, but much better in my opinion.

That's not cool. I love the legacy blynk app, I spent a lot of time and money purchasing "energy" on their app, and now they are shutting it down by the end of the year, introducing this new app with a subscription plan. I'd have to get your PRO plan for 41$/month to keep my personal non-commercial project running. Not cool

I wanted to change my subscription to a free one since I don't use the service anymore. I couldn't find the way to do that & you will charge me relentlessly every monthe. I sent a message to customers service to cancel my subscription, again no response. Deleted my account. You guys still chasing me for monthly payment without even an account. I don't want your subscription anymore stop charging me! Edit: I have done that as well. I still receive messages for payment.

Forces you to install the app on your phone to finish account setup. Only people who do this are Spyware / thieves. Absolutely dirty move by this developer. Do not touch this product. I wouldn't trust anyone who forces an app install like this and you shouldn't either. Specifically, the web browser would not allow me to create a password until the app had been installed on my phone and loaded the password creation portal in the app. The moment the app was on my phone, I could proceed, not b4.

Not very happy with the new version. More complicated than the previous version, whose main selling point in my opinion was its simplicity. Also missing one of my favourite widgets "bridge"! Can't add multiple devices to one project like previously, all in all a step backwards.

Legacy version was retired and if you had credits they're gone. New version is incredibly painful to use - to the point where I'd rather make/look for any alternative. No local server, which makes half my projects useless. Just horrendous. I'd pay for use of the old app, even with no local server. It's a perfect example of how to ruin something that worked well and everyone loved. Developers have shot themselves in their own feet, and don't know they're bleeding with this one.

Blynk legacy was so good.. I do not understand why you came up with this monstrosity.. Edit: Nope. Still bad. I do not want to pay 5€ a month for one iot app for my boiler. If it was cheaper, maybe more people would be using this. It is a great concept, very nicely integratable among different iot devices. Honestly I love it because there is absolutely no one else with this level of ease of use on the market. It just is not small hobbyist scale friendly..

It is not very useful without your own local server This support has been removed Blynk used to be the easiest way to prototype, but they have sold out. I backed you guys on Kickstarter, you had a brilliant idea, but the new version has really missed the mark. I know I can still use the old version, but the UI is so broken and you can't make the widgets small enough. My recommendation: keep everything in the front end the same, but add Bluetooth and local-server support!

Not intuitive at all. Gone are the simple setups that I became familiar with Blynk legacy. This new version has become complicated to casual users like me. Now we were told that the Blynk legacy will cease to exist after December 2022. Blynk legacy could have been made better, but business revenue has taken precedence. All the useful features are now available only when upgraded.... Sad really. Thanks for the quick reply. Most of the useful objects are now under subscription. It is crippled.

They eliminated my account because it was 6 months without login in and made me lost all my projects! 😡

App is good but it has only to type of profile one free (with many restrictions)and another one is too expensive and that too with many devices that much devices is of no need for a guy working on this house with only like 5 devices or 2devices with lesser price will be helpful for normal people (every one is not rich )

with each new update, I keep losing more and more data sets that transmit back from my sensors. At first I had temperature and battery voltage and for some reason the battery voltage just quit. No code changes nothing just decides to stop. All the hardware that I made is the same. nothing changed other than updates to the app and how my data is handled by Blynk.
