Google Keep is by far my favorite app. It's extremely easy to use and has all the bells and whistles to add pictures, labels, color and backgrounds in a variety of patterns to dress up your journals or pages and make them vividly pop when you lay eyes on them ND draws your attention and focus in for a better reading experience. You will love it, as sure as my lips are moving. The sooner you download the app, the sooner your writing enjoyment can begin!
I use this app every single day. I keep track of everything I need to do and I'm able to capture thoughts effortlessly. Best part is I can find notes via search when something's on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite recall. Improvements I'd like: I need more flexibility with timers. I'd like to repeat a reminder on hourly or even minute time frames. I'd like to set my default reminder settings as well since Later today 6pm will never be a choice I make. I'll be eating dinner then.
I over use this app so much. Fast convenient versatile. You're not gonna use it to write a thesis but quick notes or when you need to save a URL or picture for some reason and want to give it context, it's nice to be able to pop the link in make a few notes and come back to it when you need it later. The best feature aside from ease of use is you sync to your account so if you're on your phone and need to swap to your computer you don't have to do it in Google docs/drive just type and go.
I've been using Keep Notes for at least 6 years and as long as Google supports the app and updates it, I'll continue to use it. It's handy for everything from journals to grocery lists. You can even send documents to Google Docs for printing. Everything is backed up and saved in the cloud so when you change devices, everything is still there. you can also access your Notes from all your devices at the same time. When I'm journaling I like to use my Chromebook because I can type faster on it.
I use this app for my grocery shopping, vision board, brainstorms, rough draft, and notes at work. It love the feature that it integrates notes on multiple devices. So if I do a note on my tablet and what to glance at it at work, I can do so on my phone with no problem. Just a quick refresh. One of the most practical apps you can have in your arsenal for organization.
I've used Keep for several years, originally on my laptop, and now on my phone. It's easy to use, convenient for managing grocery lists, recipes and other data. When I think of an item I need, I add it to the list. While grocery shopping (in person or online) I check off items as I put them in my cart. I also use it to track links to references and resources, and recipes.
I love this app! The only thing I wish were different is being able to still see all original dates at the bottom of your note(s) instead of the date changing after even the smallest edit. Well, at least if you wanted the original date to stay the same, which could be an option. Also, I've "misplaced" a few notes after changing phones and reinstalling this app. However, it's one of THE best!!! Please... never add ads. Thanks! ☺️
This app is a great app for organization. Hi, I’m a teenager of the age of 14. In high school you really need to get organized, write down what homework needs to get done reminders on test dates. As of right now though it is summer and I don’t want to be just laying around in bed all summer watching videos or being lazy. I at least want to be a bit productive, so I was on the search for a to do list app that will help me feel accomplished in the goals I set. So I went searching and most organizer apps and to do list apps have a fee, which if your under 16 years old you can’t really do that. I downloaded a bunch of apps looking for the right one. For an estimate on how many I downloaded and deleted was about 8, which is a lot. On this app I can put my to do list, write reminders, and put pictures to remind myself to love myself and remind me that people care about me to. Those inspirational pictures and encouraging pictures I’d say help me from going down into the hole of depression. (I might be overreacting to that but it’s true) so I wanted to thank google for making an app like this! ❤️
I like it. I love that it connects to the Google account for easy syncing across apps, BUT a big need for me is making categories out of my list. for example, I created a shopping list, but there's no way for me to group items by category or shopping section (i.e., dairy, meats, pantry, clothes, cleaning, etc.). It would make this app perfect for me as well as many others, I'm sure.
I love this app and have been using it for years to organize my many lists and notes. However, the voice note feature seems pretty useless. It stops recording automatically if there is even the briefest pause in speaking. I would love to use this feature for song ideas and longer recordings. As it is, I can't even talk fast enough to use for a basic note. Manual controls for the recorder would be greatly appreciated!
Requests! The ability to add in more wallpapers like choosing one from your own photo gallery. Bold text, etc…come on. Sigh, I just got this app to get away from my iPhone’s need of ICloud storage, though this app is from you guys and I’ve gotten it as it doesn’t need iCloud syncing storage, and cause I am comfterbal being in google. I, and I know a speak for a group of many people along with myself on this one, if not then…okay, when adding a picture to a note, the picture goes all the way to the top above the title, and I don’t want it there, but I caint move it down, please make it an option for us to be able to choose where our images go and the ability to make it small so it doesn’t have to take up a botch in our notes space
I’ve started using this because I have ADHD and I’m a teacher and a million thoughts pop into my head throughout the day that I want to be able to dump out onto paper. The problem is then I have a million little notepads with random thoughts because I can’t keep track of one note pad. This is perfect because I can have it open on my computer and my phone and always have access to write it down. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I would LOVE to see it become a widget, so I can make the app way bigger on my phone so when I open my phone to open google keep and write something down, I don’t get distracted by a notification of some sort and forget what I was doing. I want to open my phone, have a giant bright yellow google keep looking at me so I can quickly click on it and dump all the thoughts out of my brain. Please help!!!!

Love this. I use Keep, Sheets, and Calendar together as my digital Bullet Journal, and I swear Keep has made me more organized and self aware! Does it’s job and has lots packed in it that others take for granted (pinned notes/post its, GCal integration, reminders, etc) However there’s lots of room for improvement. I feel like Keep is in this productivity app limbo where it doesn’t know if it wants to be a post it note application or a note taking application. It doesnt capture long term notes but it doesn’t seem to feel like a true “post-it”/corkboard application either, and the integration with Google Docs in both web and mobile is lacking. I would appreciate it Google Keep expanded into more of a Trello/ Post-It hybrid and allowed for 1) Allow for Folder/Notebook categorization 2.) Adding font / RTE formatting 3) Ability to organize post it’s like a kanban board or grid board or any which way instead of the limited gallery view 4)Seamless integration with Google docs and Google Calendar (where searching for notes and accessing Keep notes within the Docs and Calendar app are easy )
I like it, howeve, I don't see a lock note option. And since the last update my notes open in two screens. The note I open on the right and all the other notes on the left. I do not get full screen. I can't find a setting to change this. It works because my screen is large enough on my Chromebook. On my phone it opens whole screen, for now. I like the way Keep works across multiple devices.
This is my first time using Keep for iOS, and I'm impressed thus far. However, I have 3 moderate gripes to share: 1) I wish the app would retain the label selection when reopening the app. For example, if I have my Things to Do label filtered and then close the app, I would like for the Things to Do label filter to still be enabled when I relaunch the app. It wipes the label filter every time and displays all notes again without a filter. This gets annoying to reselect each time. 2) A nice enhancement would be to auto-invite collaborators to any notes within a specific label. Currently, I have to invite my partner to every note one-by-one. This gets somewhat tiresome after 30+ new note invites, which also spammed her email inbox with 30+ notifications. That workflow could be improved. 3) If inviting a collaborator to a note, have the assigned label(s) carry over to the collaborator's Keep. For example, I assigned my partner to several Gift Idea labeled notes, but she had to go in and manually create/assign the same label within her account so that we maintained the same label. These labels should sync across, in my opinion.
Everyone should have this or similar app. We use it as a shopping list (mostly). We add items (often while cooking) to the list with our Google home devices, then open the app while at the grocery store. I prefer the Alexa shopping list, but since we have more Google Home devices (cameras, thermostats, lighting, and speakers), it makes sense to use just one assistant.
Keep Notes needs a feature similar to 'Evernote' where searching shows searched item after opening the needed note. For example, if searching Keep for the word "dinner", search results will show all notes with "dinner" in the note. Problem is, the word "dinner" is not marked or highlighted in the note after Searching. 'Evernote' not only retrieves the searched note but also highlights the searched word in the resulting note. This is a big deal if you have a note with 500 words.....
Although it's not perfect, I use google keep the most because of the incredible search feature and it's simplicity. The extra step needed to start taking a note is dumb, especially since you can already do all of those things from the Text version. It's pointless. My biggest wish is that the character limit for individual notes be removed. I almost never exceed the limit, but when I do, it is a real pain! Keep it simple, but limitless.
Simple but versatile interface. Lacks the ability to sort lists (e.g. alphabetically), which is a severe shortcoming. Search function is useless if your notes are longer than a few lines, because the results will be off screen and not scrollable. Drawing on images is tedious--lots of steps required to change pen style/color/transparency, and settings are discarded by app after every use.
I've used this app for several years and loved it until the recent upgrade this month (12/24). All notes are there except the two most important lists I use weekly. They are pinned but show nothing but a white background. I have deleted the cache but no luck. I would undo the upgrade but can't find any way to do so. Very disappointing.
It used to work, then it stopped syncing what I wrote from the website on my laptop to the app on my phone. So I deleted and re- installed, but then it would just keep loading and never work. Once, I deleted my Google account from my phone and signed back in, and that temporarily fixed it. But now it's happening again and I've tried that but it won't work. So my only option is the website, which is slower but whatever. It just bothers me because this app should work, but it doesn't.
I typically don't do bad reviews, but this had to be said. And I'm pretty sure people have already said it but it bears repeating. What in the hell happened to the product/items actual images? That was literally the best feature of the program/app. Now is hella basic. I can easily send the same thing in a text message. Way to go backwards team.
It's a good app but lately it keeps telling me to reload it because they've added more features. You must click on reload or snooze or the message stays there. If you click snooze, it just keeps coming back. I clicked reload and it reloaded but a day or two later, it did the same thing again. It's very annoying! It should do this within updates, when I update all my apps and not separately as it has been happening. It uses too much data.
I like the app a lot and have used it for years. Recently however the search function appears to be broken. When trying to search for key words, the app will not show results correctly. I have tested this on various notes and the success/failure rate appears to be random. Sometimes it can't find words in the title and sometimes it can't find words in the body of the note. Other times, it finds key words correctly in either title or body. If this is fixed, I'd give the app a solid 4/5 stars.
I’ve been using this app for years. But around two months, I started running into a huge problem every now and then. I’d be in the middle of working on a note when randomly I’d be booted out, and left to watch from the menu as all my notes mass duplicate themselves and turn into lists. This also affected my archived notes. The original versions of the notes would copy paste all text three or four times, enter checkbox format, then make two other blank versions of it also full of checkboxes. In the middle of cleaning up my page (this is the third time this has happened, though it’s never been this bad.) one of my most important notes went missing out of nowhere. I found it in my trash and when I went to restore it, it came back blank. This app has had an irreplaceable role in not just organizing my goals and daily life, but my enjoyment of poems and songwriting. Until I can be for certain my hard work will be protected, I’ll be forced to use a different notes application. I hope this issue gets resolved because it hasn’t been a one-time occurrence. Each time it has gotten worse. Each time I’ve lost valuable information. Each time I spend hours of my day having to clean up and rewrite notes that were altered by a bug that seems very recent. I hope this gets resolved so that I may return.
I use Google Keep A LOT and have saved MANY notes over the past decade - some are quite long. So it's very frustrating when I search my notes for a specific word and it gives me all the notes that contain that word, BUT when I open each note, the word doesn't remain highlighted. That makes it VERY HARD to find. It needs to keep the searched word highlighted in each note or at least allow me to search within each of those notes again and let me jump to each highlighted occurrence in that note.
I liked the notes better on my old phone. I don't like that when I set up a check list, my checked off items just disappear. I wish the checked items would just looked crossed through or a lighter color text. it gives a sense of accomplishment, seeing what got done, rather than worrying if I just erased my to do list (I use it daily at work so I use the same list daily)
Ever since I updated this app, it's been intensely freezing and abruptly shutting down. I can't use this for even a minute before something goes wrong. I've refreshed, emptied cache, updated, and synced my account; literally nothing has worked to stop these freezes and crashes. There are times where I go to open a past note I've written, and it's just blank—literally nothing shows up. This is currently unusable, whether I touch the screen or not. Please fix this, this is completely terrible!!!
I've used this app for years. Suddenly, my widget stops working, so I delete it, intending to put it back, to see if it will start loading again. Then I realize the one I like is no longer available. In its place is the ability to pin only one note (instead of being able to scroll through them all) and the font is HUGE. Way bigger than the font in the note itself, with no way to change it that I can find. Please, put the old widget back, some of us relied on it.
For some reason I can no longer set reminders for a specific time and date. The little window where you can select the time or date or whether the reminder repeats pops up, but I can't select anything. I just poke at the screen and nothing happens. I can't even save or delete the reminder, I have to back out to get out of the window. This is like the main thing I use this app for, so it's beyond inconvenient.
I used to love this app. My wife and I kept a shared grocery list as well as others. The grocery list, by far, gets the most use. For the last year and a half, it has become pretty buggy for me. Lists would disappear, updates made by one collaborator would not show up for the others on the list. Now, lately, I can’t seem to add an item to my grocery list without the app crashing. I’ve closed the app on my iPhone, restarted it, shut the app down, hard booted my phone, created a copy of a list and deleted the original to see if one was corrupted, you name it, I’ve tried it. Now, not only does the app crash most of the time, when I do successfully add a line item, instead of keeping it where I added it, Keep tosses the line item down to the bottom of the list. I’m not able to move the item in the list order now as well. I’ve taken great pains to order the grocery list to coincide with the layout of my local grocery store. It’s WAY more efficient that way. Now it’s becoming an aggravation. I’ve got over 300 items in my list. Starting over would be a headache. I’m not really interested in using one of the other shopping apps that force a subscription or demand an account be set up for all members to share. I really liked the way Google Keep used to work. Google! Please fix this app!! For what it’s worth, I’m using an iPhone 6+ with iOS 11.3.whatever the latest is.
I put non telephone numbers into my notes to keep track of things. even though they're clearly not phone numbers, the formatting keeps changing them to phone numbers automatically and there's no way to prevent this from happening beyond changing how I want to format the numbers in my notes. I thought Google was the company of customization. Please put something in the settings that allows you to stop this from happening.
