[Edit] Issue has been resolved, and the app works beautifully. Thanks, Deputy, for a great product and great customer service. [Original] It's a decent app. The only issue I have with it is, when uploading an image to be posted, I get the Cannot find file error. This doesn't happen when uploading pictures taken through the app. Other than that it's almost seamless. Fix this issue and I'd give it 5 stars.
Seamless and enjoyable. Great interface and layout. Very easy to clock in and out of a shift.
I can't lie I've never cared for work apps on phones but this app is very convenient and simple. it informs you only of the most important things of your job scheduling and clocking In.

Deputy gives me real-time, one-click, access to my work schedule. It also keeps track of how long I have been on break so I don't go over. Working a flexible schedule has never been easier! My employer hasn't enabled clocking in on the app: I like the cohesion between the phone app and the app on the company time-clock. If I had the option to set a reminder alarm for two minutes before start-of-shift or end-of-break, I would be even MORE thrilled 😀
I used this app for my seasonal job, it was amazing. Let me know where I was working, in what area, and what I was doing. I could put in days off that I needed and vacation days. I also loved when it said how long your houses were. You can even contact your Co workers through the app to let someone take your shift. It was really good and so organized! I feel like every work place should use this app. Like right now for my new job we get our schedule through emails, use another app to contact coworkers, have to call the store for time off, and then use another app to see how long you worked in two weeks. I wish they used Deputy too. LOVED.

Deputy offers an option to sync with your mobile calendar, so once shifts are published, they pop up into your calendar, so there’s never even a need to open the app! But even the app itself is amazing, you can view your submitted shifts, timesheets, submit leave or PTO, add unavailability, and check to see who else is scheduled for that day. There’s a great “community board” section where posts can be made for employees/coworkers to view and tasks can also be assigned via the app. It’s super easy, very functional and has made schedules more convenient for myself. 10/10 would recommend.
So initially when I find out that I had to download yet another app onto my phone for my new contractor, I was a little frustrated. But Deputy has actually turned out to be pretty cool. The best part is that I can go back and see my timesheets from every day since I’ve started. The second best part is that I can see everyone who is clocked into the system. That may not be necessary if you’re working in a small building or work alone mostly. But for a place where assistance from colleagues is an every day thing, it helps. It’s also very user friendly. The only thing that I would suggest is integrating an alarm into the app. Probably one that picks up on time sheet patterns and can remind you to clock in.

I would say this App is one of the best and most convenient I have ever utilized as an employee to receive schedules, see who else is working with is that day pr a few days even a week ahead of time and clocking in and taking breaks. It centralizes so much in such an efficient way. However this is not an app for micro-managing atmospheres. If that is needed for employers then this is not the app for you because the location when clocking in is not extremely accurate so there is need for lee-way there when employees may or may not be exactly at the location and still rolling into work. So that is one main concern Employers might have. They (employers) would probably still like that even though that is not pin-point accurate they are still able to require a more accurate clock-in time because clocking in is now simplified to the access of the employees phones rather than reporting to a Time Clock station. And once you clock-in then it's just simply putting your phone away and beginning your work. Ubër convenient and efficient!!
I got a temporary seasonal job, and my employer had me download this app to clock in & out, and keep track of my time. Now that the season has ended and my employment is over, I no longer need the app. Now I have no way to delete the calendar it left behind, even though I delete the app. I called ‘Apple Support’ since I have an iPhone, and they said there is nothing they can do to help me unless I do a full reset of my phone. I don’t want to do that since I have another calendar (created & shared by not myself) that has future & past events that would be lost as well, and among other reasons such as my conversations that I want to keep for my ‘messenger’ would be lost too. I have suggested to ‘Apple’ that they should have a way of deleting a calendar that you no longer want to keep. If there was a way to delete before, I certainly don’t have one now. Very disapponted. Update: I was able to get a hold of ‘Deputy App’s’ support over the phone, and they are going to provide me with instructions on how to get rid of the calendar. Since I use ‘Google’s’ calendar app, I should be able to get rid of by going to my ‘Google Calendar’ on a regular computer. Now I know what I must do. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that myself. I must say the app’s support was very helpful. That is why I have changed my rating to 5 stars.
I enjoy this App because it's easier to see your schedule and to clock in and out of work and for breaks! Asking for a day off is also a plus and switching shifts with someone! Before we would be waiting in line taking turns to write down our time we started work and at the end of the shift also breaks, it was a pain! I recommend this App it's awesome!!!
Love the functionality of the app, gave it 4 stars because there are still some bugs. But most effecting me and my co-workers, for some reason when I go to add a message to the news feed I can only select the entire staff and not individual employees. This issue comes and goes so I know it's possible but the list of people to send a message to is not populating. Thanks, if fixed will change to 5 stars, keep up the good work, it makes my every work day better.
We are supposed to be able to roll back the time when clocking out at the end of our shift(if we forgot to clock out). Well lately, when I roll back the clock and hit (save) it doesn't save and shows the actual time, not the adjusted time. I have contacted my company(payroll) about this timesheet issue. Since we've been using Deputy for the last few years, the problem comes and goes. I'm hoping this issue gets fixed. I was told to update any new version of the app, but I don't see where.
the new update has made putting your unabaialbity a bit more annoying as it's super easy to toggle a day you wrote as unavailable to available by accident, it's a minor thing but twice I've been in a scenario where a day I blocked off was toggled to available by accident just because of the way the app was designed.
The app is generally very good. The new update for "availability" is not! it's now very confusing. there was nothing wrong with the old "unavailability" category and how it shows up when doing rosters. Not a fan of unnecessary updates, if it ain't broke don't try and fix it (and make it worse)
Overall a decent app. Only issue is the constant glitches. I've had past issues of not receiving notifications. Others in our company have had issues that are only corrected with Uninstall and reinstall. My current issue is not being able to message individual employees. Only able to message employee groups. When looking in the people list, I can see all employees (I think) but their ability to be contacted is gone and it says they have not accepted the invite.
Would rate 5, but the mobile version does not work as well for me since the last update. It used to run so smoothly, and I have enjoyed using it for the last two years. But now, neither my shift notes nor unpublished shifts on my desktop sync to mobile, and vise versa. I also can't select any employees to work a shift. These issues make the mobile version almost useless to me. I do like how the app keeps track of your break☕️ Will change back to 5 stars when issue is resolved for Android.
App works well and seems to have a lot of great features, but it was useless to me. I couldn't send invites to my team through the mobile app, and it took forever to try and create schedules. It's easier to just drag and drop into a spreadsheet or Google calendar. There didn't seem to be any easy way to use this app without paying for the desktop version. Which is bad enough, but it also makes you pay for the mobile app on top of that. Solid app but not small business friendly.
Just downloaded this app Saturday for work and it's already not working! Since Saturday, I've opened the app twice and on the 3rd attempt it simply wouldn't load and showed only the icon. I updated the app in an attempt to see if it would work to no avail.
app is great other than one huge problem, while scrolling for the days shifts and whos rostered, with one single scroll you can accidentally delete shifts. no confirmation message no nothing just shift gone and absolutely no way to undo it on the mobile app.
This is a truly terrible app. Avoid if at all possible. frequently refuses to allow your to start or end your shift. a complete failure of an a app. it has one job, can't even do that.
I'm an employee at 2 different companies, can only be logged in to one at a time, guide on website states you can, but its inconsistent with settings available in the app
