We love the audio books but really prefer the read to me section. It reads to them as well as lets them follow along with the story. Quizzes really help make sure they are paying attention. We also really love the added music/sounds that help bring the words to life and helps paint a clear picture in your mind of what is happening in the story. I have the unlimited and have an account for myself (30) , my oldest (9), my middle (3), and the youngest (2). We all LOVE epic reading!

I've been using Epic! with my now 4 year old for over a year. It's awesome. There are a plethora of great books. They miss many of my absolute favorites, but the ones they have are very good and we've found new favorites. And tons of audiobooks! Those are fantastic to have. However, finding all the books in a reading level is impossible, and I very much wish that was MUCH easier. I create lists myself and have found workarounds, but it's annoying and I wish we could search by reading level only.

This app is great! I like the variety of books available, though I hope the library continues to expand. The user interface is easy to navigate and I love being able to download for offline reading. Two things I'd like to see added are a repeat button so the littlest readers can easily replay the same book again and again. Add the ability to download the book from the non grid style list along with the available options, collection and/or favorite.

This app has been a game-changer in my Pre-K classrooms. Not only do students have options for books that can be read to them, they also have access to relevant educational songs and learning videos (which teachers can also disable if they so choose). I love the ability to create Collections and send them to students based on interests, or reading levels. Students as young as mine also benefit from the class code sign in process.

This app has helped to spark my son’s love of reading, and that spark has been eluding us for some time now! There are so many well written stories and age appropriate books up to age 14 that I saw. Even on the app you can search for books by their grade, make a collection for your child (under the parent avatar) and assign those books for them to read. They can favorite books, adding them to their library, etc. Many of the books will offer a quiz at the end, giving your child the opportunity to earn points and badges, and every kid loves being rewarded for their work! There are books they can read themselves, books that can be read to them, some that do both, and audio books for when they just want to listen or have a night time story! This app offers a nice bit of customization, you can have words highlighted and defined, search through books, collections others have already made, etc. It’s very user friendly and will suggest books based upon what your child has already read. I love that I can assign him a collection of books I’ve picked out and can separate them in collections however I like. There are also educational videos as well, we just love it. This app has become indispensable for us! ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks for the feedback! We are delighted to hear your son is enjoying Epic!. :)

It's so good, and guess what? NO ADS 0 ads like I can read 500 books and not 1 ad will come up literally like we have wanted this and know we have it only 1 thing, tho when you hold a word for some time, it will pop up the definition of that word BUT WHEN YOU TAP ON IT,IT WON'T SHOW YOU THE DEFINITION but other than that it's a great app OH and did I forget to mention that it has various videos like how to build an stuff like that but yeah it's a great app you should definitely download it.

Epic is the #1 suggested reading app, I use this for my school and it’s fun! But for some reason when I first got the app, before that I’d always use my laptop to read on it and when I got it all my profile pictures, backgrounds, badges, etc. were locked even tho I have unlocked them and when I reached level 30 I didn’t get the badge. I find this very odd, still happening for the locked items that are supposed to be unlock it today as well. I have to go on the website to change my profile pic because sometimes my classmate or a glitch or some sort would change my profile picture and my other stuff (I use my epic account for school purposes!) I have can’t do it on the app. But there’s lots of good things as well, this makes reading fun for me especially the quizzes. I really love the app, the books and collections. And do not get me started on the audiobooks, my teacher was playing an audio book for me and my class (we had the actual book as well) and I love the voices! You guys get amazing narrators and voice actors, my teacher says the voices as well! Really love it, it’s amazing and the ultimate reading app for school as well. ❤️ Thank you for reaching out!! We apologize that you’re having trouble with your account and we’re grateful for the chance to make it right. Epic is really good for every body but I think it would be much better if you could put books for adults so they can enjoy reading too and just so you know I just gave this idea if you guys want this app to be much popular and more fun for everyone. Also some thing that will also help your app is that it does not have to be with money because why not we use it for free because maybe some people don’t have the money and because every body wants to talk about it they really want to try this app and they download it but then they see oh no

I have to be honest and say that purchasing this app for a whole year was not my intention. And to my surprise, it has been the best accidental purchase. This app has helped my 1st grader to enjoy reading. When he is on Epic he is having fun and learning in a way that doesn’t make reading a chore. My 4 yr old daughter is obsessed with this app. It’s given me the extra support I’ve needed in helping both my children read. It’s extremely user friendly and the amount of books and videos available continues to surprise me. This app is a must have for all parents. It’s an amazing gift to give young children. I know my kids love it. In my house, Epic has become a constant resource for entertainment and education. It truly is an extension of our home library. It’s my virtual bookshelf and our nightly bedtime story. I don’t know what I would do with out. I know for a fact that my life n the lives of my children would be less wondrous n beautifully illustrated without Epic. Thank you to everyone at Epic. Because of your app my kids are reading more. And during this difficult time in the world, you have helped make my life a little easier n more quiet.

Ok first of all,..... THIS APP IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!! You get to read books, listen to books, and even watch videos!!!! My whole class did epic during the school year and I loved it so much I just had to get it on my phone!!!! It’s so much fun, the more you read the more badges you get, some badges come with prizes like, new profile pics, frames and more! In the winter and spring they have these contests where you read as many books as you can and if you in one of the top ten you get a prize!!( this is usually done with a class so the teacher usually picks the prize) This totally makes reading way more fun so I recommend this to the parents reading this because before I HATED reading but then I striding it with my teachers recommendation and now I always have a book in my hands!!!!!! Now here are some suggestions, when I was on the app I noticed there weren’t a lot of books I usually read like, dog man, diary of a wimpy kid and books related to that. I really would enjoy epic much more if you guys at least make an effort to put some of those books in but other than that, THIS APP IS PERFECT!!!!!!

This is the app that helped my daughter to learn how to read, she loves it! She reads everyday from the largest variety of books it has. We discover the app when she was in 2nd grade and we'll keep it for many years. It also has books in Spanish which is a plus!! Every time you connect it shows you books according to your reading level, and it allows you to save books to read later when you're offline. It also allow you to connect your account with epic school and track her performance.

Not bad. I got this so that when I'm away for work I can call home, read my daughter a story and share my screen on the video call for her to follow along with the illustrations. Definitely like that you can save favourites. There seems to be some sync issues with the web/browser and the app though. Favourites added on the web page are not showing up in the app. Quite annoying especially if you have a toddler that wants to hear her favorite books again....and again....an again. Lol.

I really like this app. BUT.... the only thing I dont like is that you cant use it after school hours unless you are paying for it. And when the child is reading and gets stuck on a word , you sometimes can click on the word and it will help the child by saying it and the noun if the word. But is not all words. For example the word nervous my daughter couldn't read it so she clicked on it and it was empty. No definition it dint help her with what it say and other easier words too. please fix.

User interface needs some work since you're unable to search by age range. You can only filter the search results after picking a topic. It would be far more useful to browse by appropriate material rather than topic alone. There's also a lot of junk books used as filler as well as kids picture books that were converted to audio books, making them essentially worthless. Overall, a mediocre experience.

I am overly satisfied with the amount of books and good options to pick from for my kiddos, but one thing.... I would love to see a category for people who are believers of Jesus and there are so many amazing books they can add for the little ones who love the Lord like some do. You can go on the search bar and only find 2 books about him. Just my 2 cents. Maybe you guys can read this and encourage this on your app. Thanks.

I wish this app would work for us, I installed it for my kids 3 year old and 5 year old. Both are learning to read, and could not read on their own yet. The problem is, this app shows all sorts of books, and doesn't label the books according to their appropriate age category. I don't see any option for filtering the books according to age, level of difficulty, or level of reading proficiency. So finding an appropriate book to read for my preschooler is a hit and miss. Also, the read to me option is not interactive at all, its like watching a video, not a reading experience. I want my kids to be able to read along, ie they should be able to follow the reader verbatim, and then flip the page at their own pace. I guess this app is not so suitable for early readers (pre-K or grade K).

Books are consistently blank. The read to me books will repeat words when moving to the next page. There doesn't seem to be a standard for when eggs are earned. It'll say to read 20 more minutes then say to read 20 more after we do. It's nice to have a safe place for kids to find reading material, but for something we pay for, I feel it's lacking in delivery.

I’m in the first few days of subscription, and wondering if I’m missing a better way to search? It’s horrible! Literally the poorest search function I’ve yet to experience. Can’t type more than one word without getting hundreds of irrelevant results. Clicking on Boxcar Children in “popular series” offers only three books, although 60+ are available in epic! The series I’ve looked at are completely unsorted, making it very difficult for children to use those independently if they have a continuous story from beginning to end. The thumbnail view, even on large screen tablet, can’t be zoomed, so subtitles and numbers within series are not readable. I attempted to create collections and assign to my homeschooling student, following the directions on epic’s site, but “My Library” is missing entirely, so can’t get past first step. I’m using the app on iPad Pro. One good thing is children can comfortably browse featured items, although I’d love to adjust what’s there since my child is mostly reading Halloween titles (in mid November). The library definitely has liberal leaning options (ex. several books about Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Big Bang ‘science’) but none to be found leaning conservatively after much searching. I’m disappointed that so few Caldecott books are included. Also lacking unabridged classics. There is no shortage of Twaddle. Not sure this is anything I expected or want to pay for. WARNING: Don't pay for a subscription until they fix their technical issues. I've been having the same issue other users have been having; you get charged for the subscription but it doesn't work. Luckily, I was able to get a refund both times that I tried. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app doesn't help. It looks like this has been going on for 2 months or so, based on other reviews. No response from customer service. My kids are bummed!

I'd like to just legitimately try the app before giving you my payment information and having to cancel after 7 days if we don't like it. My kids use the program at school and like it. The interface looks slick, but I can't get past the endless cycle of sign up, "start your free trial", sign in, click a profile, then back to "start your free trial". Rinse, repeat. You literally cannot see any content before you sign up for a subscription. If the app is so great, give me a 0 7 day free trial.

We've used Epic for 5 or 6 years now with no problem. Now, I'm being charged but not given access to the full library. Looking at reviews, everyone is having the same problem. In addition to this, their customer service has been basically nonexistent. I will give them a week to reply to my email/report, but if they do not I think it is time to contact Better business bureau and report the company there. So disappointed my children can't use their app over the winter break.

Wish they would warn you that you must pay a fee to get this app before you input all your personal information. BEWARE do NOT input your info unless you want to pay a monthly fee. I would had not mind paying for the membership but I don't like it when apps like this pull this kind of stuff to get your email to start sending you junk mail even though you decide not to go forward with the app. Now they sending unwanted junk mail. Ugh so annoying!!!

I got the app because of good reviews and my child loves reading. I got the app and signed up,but it blocks my way with an add for unlimited and there is no way to exit out of it. At the bottom it has a sign in and each time I sign it it sends me straight back to this add and it keeps looping and I can't get out. So much for a "free" app. It seems like either I have to pay the unlimited fee or delete the app. I'd rather know outright it isn't free than to go through the trouble.

While the concept itself is an excellent one - I have a very hard time with companies who see parents as suckers & kids as targets for getting those suckers. This is one of those apps - every time you turn around they are appealing to your kids sense of "I want that!" & instruct them to call their parents... The company seems quite desperate, or greedy, that they work so hard on sales to children - knowing that their parents will have a difficult time saying no. That alone turns me off completely from the app. However, that one free book is pretty cool

Epic app never works! On tablet or phone it forces you to download the app. Once downloaded it is sooooooo slow that it crashes every time. If you try through the browser you can't go beyond the screen to download the app. If you try to log-in off school hours on your laptop, I get stuck having to choose from 2 paid plans. Epic free doesn't seem to be available anymore even though they said it's available. I am so disappointed with this company. Thanks for wasting our time.
